Hi
I would like to express my concern about the, what was once a grass verge on the entrance to Tyrrell’s Way, Sutton Courtenay close to the shops.
As you will see from the photos attached this is no longer grass and presents a very real risk to pedestrians not to mention how unsightly this has become.
The cause of the damage is due to lorries (delivering) to the local shop and parking on, driving across to gain access to the rear of the shop and simply not caring. There are alternatives to delivering to the shop without destroying the verge e.g. parking in front of the shop and across from the shop and indeed I have seen delivery vehicles do just this.
I have also seen the weekly refuse collections drive across and reverse over to collect bins at the rear of the shop.
Is the solution for you to put bollards here to prevent this from continuing or do you have other solutions e.g. discussing with the shop owner for them to discuss with suppliers etc.
I would be more than happy to discuss further.
