Lights not letting traffic from Drayton turn right (again)

Reported in the Traffic Lights (permanent only) category anonymously at 16:40, Sunday 7 July 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later

At 10:06 today the traffic lights were again not letting traffic from Drayton turn right into Preston Road. If an engineer attends they will almost certainly find everything fine - because this is an intermittent fault which generally corrects itself after some minutes. Perhaps the fault is with the above ground sensor. It has been reported numerous times before (and no doubt occurred many more times without being reported): 1130785 Traffic light delay; 1144518 Northbound right hand filter, traffic lights not detecting cyclists; 1290999 Traffic light to turn right coming from Drayton is stuck on red; 1304534 Traffic light on Jct Preston Rs coming from Drayton stuck on red; 1627243 Lights not sensing traffic wanting to turn right into Preston road; 1626960 Lights not letting traffic turn right.

  • An Engineer has checked the operation of the juction. The right turn was seen being demanded by vehicles stopped behind the stop line and the signals then serving the demands. As part of future maintenance works planned at the junction, the detection system will be reviewed and your observations taken into account.

    State changed to: Fixed
