Vehicles leaving the A40 dual carriageway failing to 'give way' at the end of the junction with the A40

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
I have frequently encountered vehicles travelling at speed and failing to give way when attempting to join the A40 towards the Wheatley Services from the A40 dual carriageway. They are treating their exit as a slip road - which it isn't. I have had to brake hard to avoid a collision on more than one occasion recently. I appreciate that the area is hatched towards the junction advising them what line they should take but this is ignored with them driving across this area. Please either refresh all the road markings in the area or consider more effective methods to get them to 'give way' to traffic that has priority as the offenders are in contravention of Section 36 of the Road Traffic Act.

Just noticed on GoogleMaps that Diagram 509.1 signing is used on the A40 dual carriageway exit road. These should only be used with Diagram 1010 road markings at the junction. However, the junction is marked with Diagram 1003A 'give way' road markings and signed with Diagram 602 sign. These signs / markings are therefore giving a mixed / conflicting message
