Unfinished cycle path project - Winnaway
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category by Richard Sharp at 16:23, Wed 3 July 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later
The Winnway path was resurfaced in 2016 as part of the County Council’s Winnaway Cycle Improvement Project (Ref – S-000579). Five gaps at driveways were left at that time and remain unsurfaced. The step between the path and the driveways has increased through erosion and is now a hazard for cyclists. These stretches should be finished and surfaced properly, according to the original plan.

The Winnway was rebuilt and resurfaced in 2016 as part of the County Council’s Winnaway Cycle Improvement Project (Ref – S-000579). Five off driveways were not completed during the construction phase. These driveways are now becoming hazardous in wet weather and the kerbs, which should be flush, risk damaging cycle rims. This project needs to be completed and these driveways rebuilt and resurfaced to the specification detailed in the original project drawings and documentation. There is money still available in the project budget to complete this work.
