Unfortunately the height of the speed ramps on the approach either side of John Mason School were not raised when resurfacing works were carried out last year. The pedestrian crossing in this area is heavily used and cars maintain their speed without slowing down as the speed humps do not force them to do so. We have seen many near-misses at this crossing and anything that can help to slow down traffic and make it safer for children crossing would be greatly appreciated. There is also a problem with the gulley on the north side of the crossing, on the east side of the road. This area floods when raining as run-off collects here and is stopped by the raised surface of the crossing, even though it is not high enough. Thank you.

Thank you for your report. The raised crossing and speed bumps are the correct height and the blocked gully will be cleared in the forthcoming drainage maintenance program.
