>80mph speeding on B4526
Reported anonymously at 20:43, Sun 30 June 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council 2 minutes later
Dear Sir/Madam, Our house is on the B4526 and the road is a national speed limit. We are on a straight stretch and we have an increasing number of cars driving past at what I would estimate >80mph. We would therefore like the speed limit to be reviewed urgently. Indeed there was a serious crash at the junction of the B4526 and Long Toll Road on 21st June and there will be more soon. I and my neighbours are willing to contribute to the cost of signs, etc. Best, Jon Robinson

The implementation of reducing the speed limit requires a ‘Traffic Regulation Order’, this involves a long and expensive legal process including public consultation, I regret that Oxfordshire County Council do not currently have the available funding for such a scheme.
We would suggest that an initial approach is made to your Parish Council so that due consideration can be given towards its priority within the local area and so that the proposal can be endorsed and promoted locally. Parish Councils are also well placed to secure the necessary financial cost to such a scheme. If you would like to fund this yourself you would have to go through the Parish Council and this would also need there support.
