Possibilty to add lane to improve traffic

Reported in the Highway Schemes category by Glynn Davies at 13:39, Tuesday 25 June 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Coming in from the south to Oct street junction Take out all left hand side pavement and replace with light steel mesh walk way hung to west of the wall. Pedestrians easily walk to left when meeting two mini roundabouts. On RHS which is not used very often, reduce the pavement by half. This should leave room for 3 traffic lanes at this point. These can be varied to optimise the traffic flow. Much traffic going right from B4107 is held up now because the road is too narrow at this point. issue for at least 5 years

  • Thank you for your report and apologies for delay in response. The installation of such a scheme requires a long and expensive process. I regret that Oxfordshire County Council do not currently have the available funding for such a scheme.

We would suggest that an initial approach is made to your Parish Council so that due consideration can be given towards its priority within the local area and so that the proposal can be endorsed and promoted locally. Parish Councils are also well placed to secure the necessary financial cost to such a scheme.

State changed to: No further action
