Ratrun Ernest Road ,Fairacres Road and Oatlands Road

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 16:46, Monday 24 June 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later

We have a constant problem with vehicles using these 3 highways as a ratrun to avoid the humps in Newlands Avenue. We have reported this problem on several occasions to no avail. Could we suggest a cheap solution just paint 20mph in the road as per the roads in Great Western Park. Residents have recently experimented with staggered parking in the Fairacres Road which resulted in some success ,perhaps we should continue this action to stop the boy racers coming down here at breakneck speed!

  • No surprise no further action from OCC at this stage,

Probably waiting for accident before something is done!!

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • Thank you for your report. The installation of a 20mph speed limit would require the implementation of a Traffic Regulation Order which involves a long and expensive legal process including full consultation, i regret that Oxfordshire County Council could not fund such a scheme at this time.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
