Blocked drain causing flooding each time it rains.

There is a drainage problem from the junction of the Stert Road to where the two footpaths emerge on Brook Street. The drain outside Brookside is blocked, no water can flow away. The three on the opposite side of the road are clear, but with the bad camber on the road, made worse after it was resurfaced a few years ago, it means most of the surface water after rain flows along the right hand side of the road travelling from Stert Road into the village.
The road runs down hill from the Stert Rd junction to the first footpath and then it is uphill to the junction with Bennetts Yard. There is another ‘drain cover’ near the first footpath but it is one with only a diagonal gap of about 3mm which easily filled with silt. This has been by villagers in recent days to get water to flow through. Also by that footpath there is a culvert under the road which connects a stream that runs round the side of the garden of Brookside to the stream on the other side that flows into the Moat at Moat Manor. Before the road was resurfaced water could flow off the road and into that stream, since the resurfacing, there is a slight lip on the edge which restricts the flow of water. Hence there is a large accumulation of water where the two gradients meet.
