Security Light Dazzling Traffic on A361

Reported anonymously at 13:03, Wednesday 19 June 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council 4 minutes later

A very bright security light installed on an electricity pole in the car park of the Mason's Arms pub shines directly into the eyes of oncoming eastbound traffic on the A361, dazzling drivers, destroying night vision, and creating a danger to road users. This light needs to be moved to a pole on the other side of the car park so that it is shining towards the building, not the road. This report has been without action for so long that the pub has been refurbished and renamed (now the Boxing Hare). There has been no change to the hazard caused by this light, which dazzles drivers travelling eastbound shortly before they reach the poor visibility junction with the B4022.
