First reported on 3 September 2018 providing all required photographic evidence. In essence the road markings for the cycle lane is incorrect with giveway markings on both sides of the traffic calming areas. This is both confusing for motorists and cyclists as road marking for cars are different and conflicting.

Outstanding query as explained above since September 2018. Query wrongly stated "No further action" despite a follow up approximately two months later, without notification being sent to me.

Thank you for your report and apologies for the time taken to respond. You are correct in noting that the markings in the cycle lanes are different to the 'give and take' markings for motorists - they are there to indicate that cyclists travelling in either direction should be prepared to give way to motor vehicles navigating the chicane at the same time, so as to avoid any potential conflict. They appear to have been marked correctly (though I note that one set is missing at the bottom of the hill.)

You do not appear to be a cyclist. The signage actually put the cyclist in danger by assuming that the car has right of way no matter what the signage indicates. Motorist should not be navigating the chicane if a) they see a cyclist, or vehicle approaching, b) signage is in place that they must give way.
I will be taking this up with the DFT, who may have a different view in light of the increase in the number of cyclist fatalities. Please reconsider your decision ?
