HGV`s Parking in HGV restricted area

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 14:43, Monday 17 June 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later

This has been ongoing for a year, the issue of HGV`s parking up in the restricted parking bays. We have had many HGV`s parking across the junction of Noral Close, giving an unsafe entry and exit to Noral Close, from Noral Way.

The signs are being clearly ignored, which is causing safety issues.

As I understand the parking bay would been in situ before Noral Close was opened.

Would it be possible to remove this parking bay and replace with double yellow lines which about 25 meters long

Council ref: ENQ19835649

  • I have received an email stating this issue has been fixed. This is not the case, in fact last night a HGV was parked along Noral way with its engine running into the small hours

  • Monday 1st July This morning there have been a significant number of different HGV’s parking along Noral way, and again in front of the drive way of Noral Close, however I witnessed a driver of one of these trucks, urinate on to the path that runs along this. I would also note that some people have been using the bushes on the other side of the road as a toilet break. I did challenge the driver to ask him please be respectful as this a residential area and children are around, and that there are parking restrictions in place for HGV, his response was that “what else am I supposed to do” this HGV had just come from DCS on Noral way.

  • Et into DCS, leaving its engine running, I ask the diver was asked to switch it off or move his Lorry and refused to do due his time running out. He claims that was told to park outside your gates by a lady at reception and this would be ok until DCS start. At 5am it was still running , I believe this is the second time this particular HGV company have done this, however the first driver did move to the lay-by on the southam road when asked to do so. Last night the noise has been constant and has kept our household awake all through the night
