Speeding Traffic
Reported anonymously at 12:54, Sun 9 June 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council 1 minute later
The traffic along Wenman Rd and Thame Park Rd (into town) is frightening. Many vehicles really do speed through at 50-60 miles an hour. This is a residential area, street lights, pedestrain crossing- it really should be a 30mph. I would very much like to walk in to town but the speeding traffic is horrendous. There are no signs regarding a speed limit anywhere- there should be. Many of the culprits are locals and workers on the industrial estate. At peak times it is diabolical and also corresponds with children walking to and fro school

Thank you for your report and please accept our apologies for the time it has taken in response. The area is subject to a 30 mph speed limit and is denoted along the road by the presence of street lighting. Unfortunately, in these circumstances we are not able to install any speed limit 'repeater' signage. As mentioned in your report there are pedestrian crossing points and if some / a number of vehicles do break the speed limit or drive without due care and attention then we would suggest (if you haven't already) raise this matter with Thames Valley Police.
We trust this helps clarify and apologies, once again for the delay in response.State changed to: Investigation complete
