No road markings at Mongewell roundabout on approach from south
Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 16:34, Saturday 8 June 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
Unlike at the 'Wallingford roundabout' (next roundabout northbound on A4074) there are no road markings approaching the Mongewell roundabout to indicate that the left lane should be used for turning left and the right lane for continuing north on the A4074. As a result, vehicles not infrequently use both lanes for continuing northbound, which is dangerous as there is only room for one vehicle exiting on the N side of the roundabout. This problem was reported on 18th October 2018 - nearly 8 months ago - and nothing has been done about it. It is still causing frequent problems and near-collisions. Please can the lanes be marked up to avoid accidents.

Thank you for your report and apologies on delay in response, having inspected this site in passing, vehicles on all approaches do not currently have designated lanes and in these cases normal roundabout rules would apply as described within ‘Section 4’ of the Highway Code.
We note your suggestion about the designated lane markings and have noted this for when opportunity may arise to redesign the overall layout of this roundabout.
