Parking Issue

Tyne Avenue in Didcot is becoming extremely dangerous. People are leaving there cars in the lay-bys and commuting. Due to the road layout you can not fit two cars down the road at certain points.. You need to be able to pull into the lay-by to let a car pass. This evening I was driving down and the lay-bys were full therefore I couldn't pull my car into them meaning I had to attempt to go down the road with on coming traffic causing another driver to beep at me but I had no where to go. Either the road layout needs to be investigated or people should not be allowed to park in the lay-bys as cars need to pull into them to give way to incoming traffic. I have seen lorry's attempt to get down Tyne Avenue and it's not good, if there's no space in the lay-by and an on coming lorry you can't go anywhere.
Let alone if emergency services needed to get down this road there is no where for people to pull over.

Thank you for your report and apologies for the delay in response. The installation of formal waiting restrictions (yellow lines) requires the implementation of a ‘Traffic Regulation Order’, this involves a long and expensive legal process including public consultation. I regret that Oxfordshire County Council do not currently have the available funding for such a scheme.
We would suggest that an initial approach is made to your Parish Council so that due consideration can be given towards its priority within the local area and so that the proposal can be endorsed and promoted locally. Parish Councils are also well placed to secure the necessary financial cost to such a scheme.
