Unidentified weeds are overgrown along footpath

Reported in the Grass and Hedges category anonymously at 13:09, Wed 5 June 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

Every year the weeds along this path that runs with the railway are overgrown. Parents with children and pushchairs have to squeeze between the road and the overgrown plants which is a health risk, as the parents have to choose which side the child walks on between road and plants and usually the plants are a safer option. The plants along here are thistles and also a type of unknown weed that stings or causes rashes/blisters on skin which could hurt a child on the way if they come into contact with it. These need to be cut back to allow for safe travel as this is a well used route to the school. As this is a pre-school as well as a primary the children are very young which makes this much more dangerous. Traffic along this road is very fast being a main road adding to danger.

  • As you can see by the picture the overgrown weeds are causing the Pathway to be so narrow that it is becoming impassable with A buggy, And when not using a buggy to take my children to school they are then forced to walk amongst these (unidentified weeds) as Apposed to the road side & getting side swiped by a passing wing mirror, that could also be Potentially Dangerous.? (Less of the two evils is not a decision I feel I should have to make on the school run...

  • Unfortunately I am unable to see the photos you attached as we are having issues with our new system. Please can you update me with an exact location of where the issue is, for example near to a road or outside an number house etc. Many Thanks

  • This is Wallingford Rd, Goring - directly to the north of junction with the High St

I agree with the original complaint, the narrow footpath is being overgrown with weeds making it dangerous for children and old people.
