Chevron on dangerous bend needs a permanent fix by Oxon CC

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 10:49, Thursday 30 May 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 6 minutes later

The original report should not be closed as no permanent fix has been undertaken. On reviewing my records the original sign works were carried out (including all chevrons) by Highways & Transport, Oxfordshire County Council after being advised by Thomas Cockhill, Traffic Technician in an email dated 11/01/2011. Bucks CC also rang me this morning an confirmed that the permanent work needs to be undertaken by Oxon CC and asked me to pass their comments on to you. Please contact them directly if there is a problem since I don't wish to continue acting as a go between these past few weeks Thank you

  • I forgot to mention Well Done with adding the 10mph slow down sign. It's what this dangerous bend really needs as seen numerous accidents over the last 30 years in fog, mists and driving to fast with rain & slippery leaves.I hope its a permanent fixture. Oxon CC much better than Bucks CC on road maintenance & signs.

  • I noticed Bucks Highways has also added a temporary hazard sign on their side of the county border - well done! - this should make the dangerous bend safer for the increasing weekend cyclists and joggers. Unfortunately ramblers (some pushing baby buggies) have to walk in the road since the grass & weed verges are now left overgrown but perhaps this must be reported to another Council Dept.?
