"Give way to oncoming traffic" sign completely obscured by branches

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 14:49, Mon 27 May 2019

Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later

As you can see in the photograph, and also on google maps, the sign is obscured by leaves. Could be dangerous since vehicles coming the other way will expect drivers to stop for them.

Council ref: ENQ19833986

  • Maybe the branches have been cut back a bit, but as you can see from the picture, it's still impossible to see the sign until you're nearly level with it, by which time it's probably too late. Maybe the sign needs to be on the lamp post on the other side of the road, or further back before you reach the narrow place.

  • Again, or still, the sign is invisible until you get so close that it's really too late to react to it. It probably needs to be moved to somewhere where there aren't any bushes or trees right next to it.

  • One of the two yellow bulbs is out at the zebra crossing by the Mental Health Centre.
