Road sign missing - street closed to traffic
Reported in the Road Markings category anonymously at 08:14, Fri 24 May 2019
Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
I work on Jowett walk, which is meant to be closed to motorcycles and cars. Due to building work on the corner of Jowett Walk and longwall street, the sign indicating that the street is closed to traffic has gone from the barrier at the end. As a result, we have a real problem of motorcycles (especially Deliveroo drivers) speeding down this street. Please replace the sign.

The problem of speeding motorcycle drivers remains. It is a real nuisance, creating danger and noise for people who work on this street - which is meant to be closed to traffic. Deliveroo drivers, in particular, are using this road to drive quickly from restaurants in town to the East of the city, and I understand they are in a hurry, but this is NOT meant to be a route open to traffic. Please replace the sign and try and stop the problem

This issue is ongoing! I live in the Balliol accomodation on Jowett walk and the delivery motor cyclists are always speeding through here. The barriers should be tightened to stop them.

This report has been closed. However the issue is part of a wider signing issue which we are looking into. Unfortunately we will have to wait until building work is finished no access the site of the necessary signing

It is nonsense to write that you "will have to wait until building work is finished no access the site of the necessary signing". Access is free to anyone - just walk to the end of Jowett walk and observe the absence of a sign. Then wait there for a few moments and you will see a Deliveroo driver speed past. Be careful you don't get knocked over. Please sort this problem out.
