Danger From Overhanging Tree

Reported via iOS in the Trees category anonymously at 13:41, Thursday 9 May 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 6 minutes later

A low overhanging tree branch has been hit today by a high vehicle. Part of the branch was ripped off and fell onto the road. This is overhanging branch is a hazard risking vehicle damage and potential injuries to civilians. This situation has been reported before and no action taken. If I hear that a vehicle or pedestrian has been damaged/injured then I will support any legal action. You don’t need to be an expert to asses this as a medium to high risk.

  • Once again this is being ignored by a jobs worth council who won’t be satisfied until someone is injured and property damaged. This isn’t the only overhanging tree nearby.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • We have visited site and assessed the trees in their location. The overhanging trees present are on land maintainable by the adjacent landowner and not by the County Council. We have sent correspondence to the landowner, advising them of the problem and advising that they carry out remedial works to resolve the situation.

    Many Thanks for your enquiry.
