I’ve just moved into an older Listed property in the village of Bletchingdon, which is directly on the B4027. It’s a busy commuter road and it has a blind exit, meaning I can’t see oncoming traffic until the front of my car is in the road itself. As cars often seem to be exceeding the speed limit, this is a safety concern. What are the rules about installing a convex mirror on my property to improve visibility? I don’t want to solve one problem and cause another for drivers on the road. Is there any other official advice about tacking this problem? I’m sure it must affect other property owners on my side of the road, as the pavement is shorter than the bonnet length of an average car

If the mirror is fixed to your property it would be your responsibility, so we would only ask that it does not dazzle or cause an issue to traffic on the highway.
