Overhanging trees, overgrown hedges and grass verges obstructing visibility

Reported in the Grass and Hedges category anonymously at 15:06, Friday 3 May 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later

Visibility on the approach to Worton Park crossroads via Cassington Road or coming out of Worton Park onto Cassington road, is obstructed by overhanging trees, overgrown verges and hedges so that travelling along this stretch of road from Yarnton to Worton Park as well as turning in and out of Worton Park is dangerous for all the many Worton Park employees and residents (over 100 people and cars), also visitors to Worton organic garden. The lack of management of the verges and hedgerows mean that there are blind corners for vehicle drivers or cyclists either side (east and west) of the approach to Worton Park crossroads with Cassington Road. The safety margin for cars turning in and out of worton park or even access road for water board opposite is very narrow. Using this turn more than twice a day is a great risk and stressful. Needs regular verge management to allow visibility for oncoming traffic and traffic calming - mini roundabout or lights.
