On the north side of Beaumont Street, near the junction with Walton Street there is a wall plaque commemorating the location of Beaumont Palace, the birthplace of King Richard I (The Lionheart) and King John. The plaque is filthy and needs a good clean - some bleach and a scrubbing brush would be sufficient. The plaque is largely obscured by the foliage from the hedge. This needs cutting back. The complete job, plaque and foliage, should take no more than 30 minutes. If this is too much for the council, my wife and I will be pleased to do the job.
