The woods at this location are designated as SSSI because of inter alia rare orchids which grow on the verge between the lane and the woods. This lane is attracting considerable traffic and many motorists are parking on the verge and into the woods in order to take their dogs walking. Some of the traffic through the the woods on this narrow lane is travelling too fast. Therefore this is a request for two things. Firstly to make the speed limit on this lane 20 miles per hour and secondly to have the lane designated with a double yellow line to protect the rare flora. This has been an issue for several years but it has grown recently due to commercial dog walkers using the woods unlawfully.

Thank you for your report and please accept our apologies for the delay in response. Having looked, in passing along this route it would appear that, what you describe may have been exacerbated by the closure of the informal parking area within the woods? It would appear that the vehicles are parking within the woodland and not on the highway therefore this would be moreover a private matter to address. We hope this helps.
