Improvements to cycle path between Mons Way and Harding Road
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 12:07, Sun 14 April 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
Suggestion for extension of the cycle path behind Mons Way and Inkerman Close directly through to Faringdon Road. This would allow a very straightforward, traffic-free route from houses in this area through to Larkmead School.
There is also no connection from Mons Way and Inkerman Close to Harding Road and Stephenson Drive. The only access is via a hazardous, ad hoc stream crossing at the far end of Mons Way, which is made possible via slabs set down in the stream. This crossing is at the base of a steep slope behind a fence.
The cycle path connects at Wildmoor Gate but does not connect with Harding Road or Stephenson Drive. A bridge connecting the cycle path behind Mons Way and Inkerman Close with either Harding Road or Stephenson Drive would allow easy access for pedestrians and cyclists. There is an open grassy area off Harding Road which is difficult to access from Mons Way. Easy access would benefit dog walkers in this area.
