Thames Water access depression and flat large depression

Reported in the Pothole category anonymously at 13:50, Monday 1 April 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later

Your department made an attempt to remedy this depression in the road - only after a couple of reports. The work was not adequate as a lot of vehicles drop slightly into it - especially those with trailers - and they make a great deal of noise. The tarmac really needs cutting back and bringing up with new material to be level with the road surface. It is very troublesome esp as we have many lorries through here - despite a notice ‘Unsuitable for heavy vehicles’ on this stretch of road.

Your employees Tom and Liv(?) who came to mend another hole nearby a week or two ago said they would speak to the office about it. The second problem is a depression caused by a dropped Thames Water access lid.

  • Mo comment from Council since reported. The depression might look slight but it catches every trailer and lorry and makes a lot of noise. Likewise Thames Water have also failed to deal with their access hatch depression - small but every lorry wheel that goes over it makes my house SHAKE. Clean Water Dept supposed to be getting back to me ...nothing.

  • Thank you for your report. As you may have seen from the markings on the carriageway the area has been entered in to our forthcoming patching works.
