A magician has visited the site of the roadworks on the A338 just south of William's GP overnight. Yesterday as I was sat in the queues (twice - once each way) the electronic sign proudly displayed the out of date message "roadworks here from 07.01.19 for up to 11 weeks" (that would have been Sunday 24th March ... but they were still going strong yesterday). This morning ... the sign has magically changed to "roadworks complete by end of April" (conveniently no year is specified ...) so by my reckoning the magician has added 5 weeks to the job overnight! (Assuming he does mean April 2019). He truly is a miracle worker ... made all the more amazing by the fact that he appears to have discussed this with no residents, has not updated roadworks.org to that effect and the works were only meant to be 7 to 9 weeks originally! I wonder if he extracted compensation for all us workers delayed twice a day? Or if he was able to find out who grossly under planned the works initially? No ... thought not

The situation at the David Wilson Homes site is out of control. I left 30 mins to travel from east hanney to the Gp at Mably Way this morning. My husband has just had a heart transplant and needed urgent blood tests. He missed this urgent appt and his tests have been set back 24 hours. David Wilson homes are either completely incompetent or have lied about their lead times. Either way, not good. The efforts or lack thereof that David Wilson Homes have made to replace the road after works is utterly pathetic and they should be ashamed. Much traffic has diverted through Denchworth and the Hanneys which has destroyed the roads through these villages. David Wilson should be responsible for the cost of replacing these roads, not the Council. It is thoroughly unfair that the council take on the cost for a developer who has caused people months of stress and destroyed the roads of the local community. I know that many people are avoiding travelling to grove and Wantage because of the utterly inconsiderate roadworks caused by David Wilson and I wonder what compensation this company is going to offer to local business severely impacted by this situation. I couldn’t take a photo of the queues this morning because I was driving and it’s against the law. It ought be a good idea to go and see for yourself. Thank you
