Manhole with cover removed at side of road - would be fatal if someone fell into it

Reported anonymously at 21:18, Sunday 24 March 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council 2 minutes later

The manhole which has had the cover removed is on the verge at the side of the road (south side) on the route of the footpath that goes from one side of the road to the other. In the dark it would be invisible as there is no street lighting.

  • The manhole is exactly as shown on the map. If following the footpath from one side of the road to the other you cannot miss it. It is about 3m from the side of the road on the left hand side when travelling towards Swindon. It is still uncovered - and it is still dangerous.
