Poor visibility due to calming measure positioning
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 13:56, Thu 14 March 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later
Newly installed traffic calming measures on grove road have been placed on brow of hill, with signage on traffic island obstructing view of oncoming traffic due to positioning, also due to curvature of the road it is not possible to see approaching traffic from Abingdon road end of road from adjoining junction immediately after chicane island.

Thank you for your report. Our inspector has investigated the report of signage blocking visibility to the west of the new developments access. Visibility in the photo taken from the access doesn't appear to be blocked, but the access and traffic calming will continue to be monitored, on completion of the highway works a road safety audit will be undertaken.

Investigation only addresses second aspect of issue raised. Point also included approach from Abingdon road along main grove road towards calming measures as this is blind until you reach brow on which calming measure is placed. Please take this into consideration when final safety audit is conducted
