Tractors driving over bank and destroying bollards.
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 15:38, Wed 13 March 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later
Road is narrow at this point and if a car parked opposite my house tractors routinely run over the base of the bank at the edge of the carriageway sometimes (deliberately?) pushing over bollards. 4 of the bollards seen in the photo are broken a short distance above their concrete bases, and are just pushed back in the soil. Do I have any remedy to deter tractor drivers from disregarding the bollards and driving over the bank? The Bollards were installed in 2016 following a specification recieved from OCC Senior traffic technician.

Thank you for your report and please accept our sincere apologies for the time it has taken to respond to your enquiry. We would suggest, as from your description that this was an instance of where a larger agricultural vehicles may have had difficulty in getting past any parked vehicles that may have been to the side. If this remains problematic and has not been a 'one off' then please do discuss this with local residents or the parish council in the first instance, to see if there is a local solution that can be agreed between yourselves as to where vehicles park. If the parish council then see this as a priority for the area then we would happily advise further.
