Orange lit sreet lamp had bulb/casing replaced recently. Replaced with a white bulb/casing. Extremely bright white light now very intrusive to properties nearby. Front bedrooms lit by excessively bright white light all night causing disturbance to dwellers. Please replace with an orange bulb/casing in keeping with all other residential lights in Glenham road and Lea Park.
Many of the lights within Lea Park (to the Western side) have been replaced with LED lights that are as bright as this new bulb. The orange lighting is far too dark and all orange lights should replaced with a cleaner brighter light. Please keep this bulb in place. Many thanks

Many thanks for the fix my street reports here, unfortunately at present lighting manufacturers are only developing LED lanterns. Once the older SOX )ornage glow) type fail we can longer acquire the parts now they arent maunufactured so have a policy to replace with lower wattage LED, this also helps with our carbon footprint. Im sorry that the lighting is causing issue, we may be able to reangle this or shield the rear to help stop the glare. Kind Regards Chris (electrical officer for OCC)

Thank you for your reply, Chris. If something could be done to review this and make it less intrusive to properties I would be grateful.
In reply to the first anonymous comment above - if one LED lamp is so bright I wonder what it will look like when all of the street lamps are replaced with LEDs. Light pollution is a real issue although I totally understand the benefits of LEDs. Can you tell me which streets are already lit like this on Lea Park - I would be interested to see? Thanks. Many thanks

If you would like the see the new LED lighting please take a look at the lighting to the westside of Cromwell Avenue near the moat. From the moat the following roads have new LED street lighting; Roundhead Drive Harrison Place Pym Walk Ireton Court Lambert Walk
In addition to the east one street light in Henrietta Road and Strafford Way have been replaced with LED bulbs.
