New side road crossing cycle track

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 11:52, Friday 22 February 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later

My previous report has simply been closed. The access road to the new Myrtle Farm Court development has been given right of way across the cycle track. If cycle tracks are not fit for purpose, cyclists will not use them and will use the road (which they are allowed to do) to the annoyance of motorists. Expecting cyclists to constantly give way renders cycle tracks ineffective. The road markings should be repainted to give the cycle track right of way across Myrtle Farm Court.

  • This arrangement is consistent with other junctions along the cycle track. Safer for the cyclist to give way and be cautious of vehicles rather than rely on vehicles to give way - whom as I suspect you may be aware often do not as they are in a safe secure metal box whereas a cyclist is far more vulnerable.
