Traffic lights are causing huge tailbacks every day.

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 12:38, Friday 15 February 2019

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 2 minutes later

The recently installed traffic lights are causing huge delays and queues of a mile long or more every day. A roundabout would have been far more suitable.

Council ref: ENQ19826842

  • Agreed !! if they knew just how big Great Western Park was going to be, and they MUST have know from the plans, the fact that they put traffic lights at this junction AND the junction with the main Didcot to A34 road is the stupidest bit of planning. There are roundabouts throughout Didcot which generally work ok, but the GWP traffic lights just completely stop the flow and cause tailbacks in all directions.

  • How many miles long does the tailback have to be to meet the criteria for intervention ? Less than 1 mile ? More than 1 mile ?
