Absurd timing (again) on temporary traffic lights
Reported in the Traffic Lights (temporary only) category anonymously at 08:06, Friday 15 February 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later
Queue in one direction miles long, four cars in other direction - this is a well known black spot and every time lights are put here we have this problem. Why do they not account for the traffic flows in the light sequencing?
I fully expect this to be closed with "everything is fine nothing to see here - adding 20 minutes to the commute for hundreds of people is just fine"

20 mins!! it's just added 45 mins to my usual journey.
They never learn. Why aren't the relevant people told to either man the lights, or phase them correctly when they apply for permission from Oxfordshire Highways to repair or dig up the road on the A417?

My usual 35 minute journey from Faringdon to Harwell Campus took 1hr 37 mins this morning ... and 8 cars were waiting to come through the lights from the opposite direction! Frustrating!

Oxfordshire County Council has recently transitioned to a new system that handles reports from Fix My Street. We are checking a small number of reports, including this one, that are currently marked as fixed on our new system. If you consider this still requires further investigation, please accept our apologies and create a new report by clicking https://fixmystreet.oxfordshire.gov.uk/
