This pothole has caused major damage to my passenger front and rear wheels. The passenger front alloy rim has bent as per initial wheel photos and passenger rear now has a bulge in. I am waiting to pricing back but I need a new front rim and a new rear tyre which is likely to cost in the region of £500.
The pothole is as you come off Grenoble road and passing under the the A4074 (https://goo.gl/ maps/ Y7muZPHHR2Q2) I think it is call Kiln Brick Road. It is directly in the wheel line of cars and completely unavoidable if there is traffic coming the other way as was the case when i hit it with both my front and rear tyre as I had no where to go. It is poorly lit under the bridge and so being it was dark when I hit it, this exacerbated the issue. I had 3 young children in the car 8,10 and 12 who's lives were potentially put at risk and very scared because the the noise and impact even at a low speed such is the severity of the pothole. The depth of the hole created a massive bang as each wheel hit this unavoidable hole that simple should not exist. Further up the road there looked to be some road works going on, but not directly where the hole was. I found a road sign further up and moved it into in front of the pothole to alert other road users to this extreme hazard that could cause the death of a cyclist and or a serious car collision and not accident as this would have been avoidable if the councils maintained the roads as they should. I expect compensation for the cost of damage to my vehicle.
