Acko drains blocked and overflowing.

The Acko drains were installed by the council/highways(?) on the pavement in front of 46&48 Harcourt road to reduce the run off of water and mud onto the properties. The water is largely from the highway as the drains on the road don’t work well at all. These acko drains require clearing as they are full of detritus and not doing their required function. The pavement is now thick with mud since the ankle deep puddles have slowly drained away. Photos don’t show the problem well. This has been a long standing issue due the highway drains inability to cope. The Acko drains have been blocked for months. I raised this issue on this site several months ago and was told it was fixed but nothing was done. Recent weather conditions have reminded me of the importance of chasing a fox to this problem for residents of both 46&48, and for everyone that uses that pavement. I would do this job myself but some of the bolts holding the ‘lid’ in place appear to have been tarmac’d in during the pavement laying after their installation. Please attend and clear the drains located on the pavement asap. If possible, also please fix the main problem of the highway drainage. Though I’m guessing that would constitute major works hence why it has been avoided over the last several years of residents complaining!

The situation is worsening as thames water has been trying to fix damaged water pipes and if there is any water 'leaking' into the street it automatically pools at the front of #48 as rhe road drains are ALSO blocked. The pavement is hazardous to walk on and people utilize the private gravel driveway on the property of #48
