I am writing to you about the incredibly high level of traffic experienced on mill street in wantage. There are problems with regards to this road

People parking on yellow lines restricting access on that road as buses can no go through causing traffic and emergency services will face issues going on to that road

  • Thank you for your report. Mill Street is subject to a 30mph speed restriction as it has 'restricted road status' due to the presence of a system of street lighting, I can confirm that the limit is fully enforceable by Thames Valley Police. The section of Mill Street you have referred to is covered by formal waiting restrictions (yellow lines), in Wantage the enforcement of these restrictions falls under the remit of Thames Valley Police. Mill Street is covered by 7.5T goods vehicle prohibition but this does have an 'except for access' clause which allows all vehicles with a legitimate reason to enter the road to do so.
