Cars coming from Cowley are using the middle lane to get to Tesco
Reported in the Road Markings category anonymously at 19:37, Sat 9 February 2019
Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council 3 minutes later
Every single day when I drive from Cowley to Tesco Retail Park, cars sitting in the middle lane left of me at the traffic lights will cut me up as they cross over to the middle lane under the underpass. Basic highway code says to use the right lane to enter the retail park but this is not being followed and is a big hazard to all the cars in the right hand lane. Can some signage be put up?

I also encounter this issue every day. The lane markings on the roundabout have faded to such a degree that it is hard to see them. I think remarking the lanes would go some way to improving the situation.

The lane markings on the roundabout indicate that people going to "Retail Park" (i.e., Tesco, etc.) should use the middle lane of the roundabout. So it seems entirely reasonable that traffic on Garsington Road that is going to Tesco should use the middle lane when approaching the roundabout.

Wrong. It is not reasonable that traffic approaching should use the middle lane on Garsington road, seeing as though there is also a left turn beforehand to join the bypass. Approaching traffic in the middle lane filters into the left lane under the bypass and right lane filters into either the middle lane for Tesco or the right lane for going south on the bypass/back to Cowley etc.

You need to repaint the lines on the road so people can see what lane they should clearly be in. A sign would be good too. Some old lady cut me up this morning and then gave me the finger for good measure even though she was the one cutting across into the middle lane.A accident waiting to happen at this section of the roundabout.

Is it possible to get an update please? I have had endless near-misses since I raised this issue and one before that was closed with no action.
Not only are the lanes not clear when approaching from Garsington, but generally the roundabout as a whole needs the lines repainted as they are so faint.
