Oxfordshire County Council have recently appointed new term maintenance contractors to manage our electrical highway assets within Oxfordshire, however they are currently dealing with a small backlog of outstanding faults from the transition from the old contractor to the new. Our aim is to get as many faults as possible rectified, however this will be based on an area approach. Apologies for any inconvenience caused while this asset is out of operation.
Kind regards The Electrical – Lighting Team

The street light is still not working. That area of the street is really dark at night, and although it is a cul de sac there is a footpath down on to the Hailey Road, and lots of people go along the street to get to the footpath. It is impossible to see the pavement and kerb at that point in the dark and a lot of the residents of that part of Vanner Road are elderly - at least one couple are nearly 90 years of age. If an accident occurs as a result of this light not functioning, there could be serious repercussions not only for them but in terms of possible compensation claims.

Thank you for your report, due to the amount of time the light has been out and the location, we have requested our contractors prioritise.

Thank you very much. That's good to know. Having looked again, there's actually no pavement along that stretch of road, which makes it even more dangerous as everyone has to walk in the road. I am sure the residents will be delighted when the light is fixed.
