Hoggrove Hill steps in Woodstock
Reported anonymously at 11:39, Mon 4 February 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council 1 minute later
I contacted 101 yesterday to alert them to the grave danger of slipping and injury on the Hoggrove Hill steps in Woodstock. These steps run from the corner of Harrison's Lane and Chaucer's Lane in Woodstock. They are a short cut for those wishing to enter Blenheim via the rear gate on the A44. Despite this call, and many people risked serious injury by attempting to walk on these steep steps which are a public walkway between garden beds which are privately owned. People were walking on the privately owned gardens, pulling on trees and rockeries to steady themselves on the worst of the steps. You did not close the steps despite a request from police. With more snow forecast, you need to alert your teams that these ungritted steps are lethal and should be closed as soon as heavy snow falls.
