Street light on new estate has no cowl fitted -- it shines directly into our bedroom window and creates perpetual daylight in the room. This Tilbury Fields estate, developed by Persimmon, is currently the subject of a retrospective application for planning permission, since it was not built in accordance with its original permissions or conditions. There are manyvgrounds for the local Highway Authority to submit an objection to this application, of which this is just one.

The streetlight has been incorrectly installed by the developer within the curtilage of our property and without a cowl to shield the bedroom from invasive light. It has also been poorly installed such that the excavation for the cable has caused the pavement to sink, creating a semi-permanent puddle (ice sheet in winter).
