Street light only working intermittently
Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 18:14, Fri 1 February 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
This streetlight, like a significant number of others on this road only works intermittently, with the light repeatedly on briefly, then off for a while during darkness.
This is making the road dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists particularly
To the layman it would appear that the bulbs used in the lights on this stretch of road are past their working life and need replacing.
This light number 27 is now damaged, the reflector is on the ground and the wires hanging out the unit.
Lamp number 29 now doesn't work at all. This section of the road resembles the black hole of Calcutta with two lights out.

I can see that several reports have been made but it appears that the casing is broken and therefore the wires dangling are more dangerous. Photo provided

Thank you for your update, we have requested our contractors attend the unit with the hanging canopy as an emergency and make safe.

Many street lights on the Faringdon Road in Southmoor and Kingston Bagpuize during darkness go on and off intermittently. This makes this road dangerous for cyclists and pedestrians. I see this has been reported several times. Please can it be fixed quickly .

Thank you for your report, these are open faults on our management system, we have recently appointed a new term time contractor who is currently in the process of attending and repairing the outstanding faults left from the transition from the previous contractor. They are working on an area based approach and will attend as soon as possible.
