Uneven road surface
Reported in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 09:41, Fri 1 February 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later
The northbound lane of the High Street on the outside of the road the surface is very uneven. There are multiple ruts about 50cm long and maybe 6cm deep from the pedestrian crossing all the way south to the bridge. This is a danger to cyclists and also damaging cars. Vehicles often have to slow down to a crawl to drive over the ruts or drive in the centre of the road to avoid it.

During rush hour tonight the temporary traffic lights that Gas Transportation Co Lt have put up in Steventon on the B4017 were left unmanned and were not working correctly causing unnecessary queues either side. They flicked between red and green within seconds, also there was not enough time given for the traffic to clear before the light went green and then there was a long wait for either side to move. Please ensure this is corrected asap.

This stretch of road is so uneven, the lorries speed down the hill so fast bumping over the road, it makes my house shake. There are cracks in the bedroom walls which I am certain are caused by the vibrations from the road. The beds shake at night with the speed at which lorries and busses bump over the road surface and drains. It’s also extremally noisy. Please could the noisy drain cover be fixed outside the Fox pub, and the road surface fixed after the gas works. Ultimately though the speed limit must be further enforced. It’s making living there very uncomfortable
