Updates

  • Ref: 350308/350309 Thank you for your report; we have logged this as a fault on our management system. Our current policy is for our contractor to attend electrical & structural emergencies as a priority; these will be attended within a 24hr period. All other faults are logged on our management system, for efficiency, these are grouped by area and the date they were reported, and the contractor attends against a programmed of works based on this approach.

  • A month later and nothing has been done. This system is a waste of money, as is the electricity used to keep these lights burning 24 hours a day.

  • Oxfordshire County Council have recently appointed new term maintenance contractors to manage our electrical highway assets within Oxfordshire, however they are currently dealing with a small backlog of outstanding faults from the transition from the old contractor to the new. Our aim is to get as many faults as possible rectified, however this will be based on an area approach. Apologies for any inconvenience caused while this asset is out of operation.

Kind regards The Electrical – Lighting Team

  • Over two months on and still the lights burn twenty-four hours a day. It is shocking that the council has failed to address this matter: if the council’s contractor is to blame, it is the council’s obligation to manage its contractor effectively. If the blame is being laid at a previous contractor, why was that contractor not managed properly and why is there apparently no mechanism to address outstanding faults?

  • Many thanks for your report and sorry to hear we still have an issue. We have the faults down as completed with components fitted on 9/3/2019 to both 1 and 2 in the lane. I will raise the issue and get our contractors sent back out to site. Apologies for any inconvenience caused

  • Three months later, and although the two lights in The Lane have finally been fixed, the one by the car park of the Village Hall continues to shine brightly 24 hours a day. The number on the lamppost is 2; the Village Hall car park is accessed by the road to the side of the church on Church Hill. Please fix it.

  • Ref:00353561 Thank you for your report, OCC are now responding to out of lights within the contracted timescales of attending site within 7 days for repairs. If there is a cable fault this will be passed to the Electricity company to repair and will take longer, it will depend on the resources which the District Service Operator has. Thank you
