Street light not working outside 12 Arnold Way
Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 23:44, Wed 30 January 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
I reported this light in December and it was fixed for a couple of days, then went out again. We went out this evening on foot and it was pitch black and impossible to see where we were going.

I have reported this light twice now. This light is fixed for a few days and then switched off again. I now believe it is a cost saving rather than a fault on the light. Please can you find another light to switch off as this light is at the very end of the road and without it, the top end of Arnold Way is in total darkness and therefore hazardous to pedestrians.

Bungalows in conduit hill rise, 21 and 19 are blinded when light on because the lamp head should point towards the street. It needs to be rotated 90 degrees or shield fitted. A bright beam directed to our houses very annoying. Thank you.

Please ease ensure that the inspector is aware of the top LED head light needing re-alignment to prevent light pollution in adjacent Conduit Hill Rise. It requires to be rotated 90 degrees.....

Thank you for your report, to enable us to log the fault to the correct unit can you please advise using the attached map the street light number you are referring to. If the unit is not on the map this would not be owned/maintained by Oxfordshire County Council and would need to be reported to the developer/landowner direct. Unfortunately we do not keep records of private lights.

My previous report specified light outside no 12 Arnold Way, which is light no 5. i Have also explained fault to someone in an office. In my view no action is being taken so unless an update is received within 24 hours i intend to write a letter to head of highways. In short the light needs to be rotated by 90 degrees to prevent powerful LED light pollution into Conduit Hill Rise bungalows..thank you

Ref: 00355902 Thank you for your report, OCC are now responding to out of lights within the contracted timescales of attending site within 7 days for repairs. If there is a cable fault this will be passed to the Electricity company to repair and will take longer, it will depend on the resources which the District Service Operator has. Thank you
