Timing of temporary traffic lights

The temporary lights on the A415 Marcham road are not fair in both directions. This morning it took me 35 minutes to get from Abingdon Prep schoolto the lights due to a long traffic jam. There were no cars waiting at the lights from the other direction at all!

Last night (7th Feb) it took me an hour (normally 20 mins max) to do the 10 miles from Harwell to Wootton, most spent on the A34 northbound queue/sliproad. The A34 was queuing both north and southbound and west Abingdon was gridlocked because of these works. I assume it wouldn't be possible to open the road up during rush hours as there must be a hole in the road (but I haven’t been past)? Also as the previous contributor suggests, somebody needs to review the levels of traffic at these times and adjust the lights accordingly. Stationary traffic both ways on the A34 is dangerous.
