2 streetlights not working
Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 11:54, Tue 22 January 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later
There are 2 streetlights on Sir Frank Williams Avenue near to the junction of Ash Way that are not working on either sides of the road. This makes i dangerous to both pedestrians and cyclists when it is dark as you cannot see them when you turn in off the main road.

Many thanks for your report, unfortunately this area is still not adopted by OCC. The developer Taylor Wimpey are still the owners of the entire site so need to be contacted to repair any defects. I appreciate the frustration as i live on the development myself. Sorry we cannot assist further.

Many thanks for the quick reply. I have just emailed Taylor Wimpey, so will see if they do this.

Response received from Taylor Wimpey: Thank you for making contact about the street lighting on Great Western Park. In normal circumstance I would be seeking your help to identify which ones are not working as our contractor does the repair work during the day time so they can’t readily identify which ones are not working without checking every column. Fortunately a colleague spent an evening last week going around the whole estate and has produced a list of non-working street lights on the spine road and the Taylor Wimpey parcels. I don’t know how many street lights were identified, but these will have been sent to Scottish and Southern Electricity – Street Lighting section. They will need to programme the work, and depending where they start the repairs, your part of the estate could be done in a couple of weeks if at the top of the list, or within a month if the survey started at the top and worked down their way down the hill. If any of the street lights are still not working after a month, please let me have the locations and I will pursue their repair.
