Can there be some traffic calming measures put in place around Charlton Primary school - people drive particularly fast past the school - I understand that they are frustrated as they want to get to work quickly and that around the school it is particularly busy at school drop off time with parent parking and taking their children to school. This morning was particularly bad. As I was walking to school along the pavement I had to move my children out of the way of a few cars and a lorry that mounted the pavement in order to get past the school more quickly. My 4 year old is difficult enough to manage in the mornings and keep safe. It makes it much harder if drivers drive fast or if they mount the pavement to make progress in their journey. Can you please look at doing something to make it safer for children when they travel to and from the school?

Thank you for your report. I regret that Oxfordshire County Council do not have the available funding to install further traffic calming measures at this location, vehicles either parked in such a position as to cause an obstruction or driving on the footway are both committing offences which are enforced by Thames Valley Police.
State changed to: Investigation complete
