Traffic light at crossing needs adjustment
Reported via iOS in the Traffic Lights (permanent only) category by Martin Johnson at 20:28, Sunday 20 January 2019
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 6 minutes later
While cars are being held northbound, waiting to leave the roundabout and proceed north on A44, the lights for the pedestrian crossing are showing green and they can be clearly seen by the vehicles that are technically being held on red.
I witnessed a vehicle passing through the red lights, I believe because they saw the green lights. This is highly dangerous, an accident waiting to happen. Rgds. MJ
Thank you for recently contacting Oxfordshire County Council regarding the Wolvercote roundabout traffic signal junction. The alignment of the signal heads onsite have been checked and found to be as intended. The project and traffic signals teams have previously exhausted the available options to amend the existing arrangement further and believe that the current arrangement is the best achievable at this site.

This is not fixed. Council claims they are unable to. This makes no sense as most of these kind of lights cannot be seen until you are right upon them.

“Best achievable at this site” doesn’t cut it. I’m sure you’ll do the job properly after the first collision occurs.
