I broke my wrist here, needing an operation

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
I tripped over a raised paving slab, on a dry, sunny day. Five hours later, staff at Witney Hospital re-directed me to the JR Hospital in Oxford. I was discharged from there at 1.00am. Twelve days later, I was given less than 2hrs notification to get to the Horton for an operation. However, they forgot to ask me when I'd last eaten/drank. After 2hrs in hospital, I was discharged due to having had a coffee and biscuit at 10.30am! The bed was left vacant with my name by it, & I went back the following day to have a metal plate inserted. Such a waste of time, money and resources. Transport, loss of earnings etc. How do I claim recompense?

Thank you for your enquiry and I am very sorry to hear of your fall. I hope you are recovering well.
I have visited the site and assessed the problem that you have identified. Unfortunately it does not meet our current intervention criteria so I cannot arrange a repair. However I will continue to monitor this during our routine inspections and considering the amount of people using the footway I will also pass it on to our team to get a full assessment..
State changed to: No further action
